Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award! Double the love!

So… we got nominated twice for this award! Thanks Ikurate and missienelly over at My Myooz for the love. I really enjoyed reading your posts and checking out some of the other blogs that were nominated.

But, enough chitchat! There are questions to answer. Since I’m the one writing this post, all questions are being answered by me, Only. Don’t worry, JK endorses all of my opinions unconditionally (just don’t tell her I said that).

Questions from missienelly!

1. If you were lucky enough to win a lottery, what would you do?
Move to Korea, become an obnoxious chaebol mother-in-law, terrorize my children and their prospective partners, go around in ridiculous outfits with giant handbags, and get my hair done in crazy ahjumma style. I’m a little too young for this, but whatever! It looks like fun.

2. If time is not an issue, name one thing you would like to do or give to yourself?
More travel! So many places to visit, so many things to eat while I’m there.

3. I am a fan of “Gilmore Girls”. Are you? If you are, are you a Lorelai or Rory? If not, why not?
I’m not a huge fan, but I used to watch occasionally. I’m more like Lorelai than Rory, in that my snappy pop cultural references are probably pretty dated.

4. Pick one: gold, silver or platinum. And, why.
Gold! Shiny, yellow gold goes with the chaebol ahjumma lifestyle.

5. If you can choose a blogging partner, or add another blogger to your blog, who would you choose?
So many awesome writers. Either someone more amusing or more thoughtful than we are. Or someone who’s into K-pop (we’re not, sadly).

Questions from IKurate!

What is your go-to Kdrama?
Full disclosure: I’ve never rewatched a K-drama from beginning to end. I have rewatched certain episodes and scenes, so from that list, “Coffee Prince”, “Queen In-Hyun’s Man”, and a few others.

What is your most memorable Kdrama “binge-watch”?
I burned through “Flower Boy Ramen Shop” pretty quickly, but if we can broaden a little to J-dramas, I watched “Hanzawa Naoki” in one day, because I couldn’t put it down. Weirdly enough, I have no interest in rewatching it.

What is your favourite Kdrama scene?
How about two of my current favourites? The romantic interlude between Yi Seok and Hong Do in episode 4 of “Heart to Heart”, and the fight scene at the end of episode 6 of “Heard it through the Grapevine”.

Which Kdrama actor/actress you would watch in anything?
No one. If a show sucks, I won’t keep watching even if my favourite actor/actress is in it.

Which Kdrama actor/actress you cannot deal with?
I’m pretty forgiving. If an actor/actress is terrible in something, I don’t usually write them off.

What is the worst Kdrama you have ever watched and finished?
“I Need Romance 3”. Seriously, I hated that drama. Coincidentally, we recapped it.

What is the last Kdrama you could not finish?
“Blade Man”. Too bad, because it started out interesting then devolved into a boring melodrama.

What is your ideal Kdrama team (writer, director & main cast)?
This needs more thought. But, just for fun, let’s team up director, Ahn Pan Seok with the Hong sisters on writing duties. Moody, but wacky sounds like fun.

How do you choose a Kdrama to recap?
Oh, if only I could let you into the arcane workings of our blog. I can’t sadly, because there aren’t any. Basically, if it looks interesting, and the timing is good, we’ll recap. Bonus points for noona romances (JK) and food (me).

Do you have a favourite Korean word/expression learnt after watching Kdramas?
“Pounding the rice cake” from “Fated to Love You”.

My nominations

Those of you who are too busy to write one of these, or just can’t be bothered, don’t worry. My feelings will not be hurt. Regardless, I am expressing my love for your blogs.

Moni at Frock Yeah!

My questions

1. Nutella or peanut butter?
2. Sushi or ramen?
3. Which drama would you recommend to anyone?
4. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you travel, and what would you eat there?
5. What was your favourite meal in a drama?
Bonus question:
How many of these Chinese dumplings have you tried? How many would you like to try?

  1. Wah! Thanks for the nomination! We are so honored 😀 We will get to the questions ASAP.
Just out of curiosity – what program are you using in that first picture? It’s so cute! ^^

    1. That’s a screen capture from “Surplus Princess”. Hye Young makes a living as a meokbang performer, and here, she is dressed up as Elsa ready to eat Olaf cake. Ha Ni, the former mermaid, is her housemate, and just arrived for some girl talk. I like to pretend that this is a portrait of Only and me. Guess who would play Hye Young and who would be Ha Ni.

  2. Goodness!!! I found your blog through DramaForReal (Estelle & Anna), and I’m still wondering how to follow it through wordpress… I already love it. I also thought I thought “I Need Romance 3” sucked too. The funny thing, while watching it, I still wanted to know what would happen in the next episode, I think it’s because I loved Sung Joon’s character – and felt sorry for him too. I hoped the ending would at least save the show, it was stupid.

Couldn’t finish Blade Man either. The actress irritated me. But in Sensory Couple, I like her character a lot.

    Loved your answers ^^
