Episode 11 of Master’s Sun

It’s a Hong sisters drama, so you can be guaranteed that any confession of love is going to go cock-eyed. Uptight chaebol Joo Joong Won (So Ji Sub) throws down his confession of love to ghost medium, Tae Gong Shil (Gong Hyo Jin) like a challenge. Unsurprisingly, her first response is disbelief, followed by fear.

In typical fashion, Joong Won equates Gong Shil’s feelings of the moment with his own reaction when she told him she could see ghosts. Joong Won argues that she should accept his confession, since he accepted that she could see ghosts.

Gong Shil is still skeptical, so Joong Won tries another tack, offering her the benefit of his ghost repelling touch. This has the opposite effect, so he’s finally down to explaining how he tried to resist her, but ultimately failed.

Joong Won throws down the gauntlet: since he’s no longer able to stay away from her, it’s up to Gong Shil to stay strong while he tries to seduce her.

Before she can respond, Gong Shil is interrupted by the arrival of a persistent ghost. Joong Won drives it away by pulling her into his arms, but he throws her into turmoil again, by confessing that he’d missed her while she was gone. Relieved at having gotten that off his chest, Joong Won takes Gong Shil’s hand, and starts walking.

The Hong sisters have a fine sense of the ridiculous, as evidenced in Joong Won and Gong Shil’s next moments, when after asking her what she’d like to do, he ends up taking her to a funeral. Ah, modern romance.
