We count down the days to Christmas by unveiling 24 magical Kdrama moments. Next up, “Queen In Hyun’s Man”.
Episode 11 of Queen In Hyun’s Man
Brought together by a time-travelling talisman, then separated by a rift in time, Joseon scholar, Kim Boong Do (Ji Hyun Woo) is finally reunited with actress, Choi Hee Jin (Yoo In Na). But, before they can celebrate, they have to contend with the fact that the damage to Boong Do’s talisman has caused time to reset. He returns to a present-day Seoul where the only person who remembers him is Hee Jin. This causes a whole host of complications, not least of which is that Hee Jin, all unknowing, got back together with her ex-boyfriend, who doesn’t take kindly to being dumped for a random guy he has no memory of.
In the end, Boong Do and Hee Jin run off to an inn, where Hee Jin intends to leave Boong Do until the next morning. When he protests, she points out that he can just watch tv until she comes back, making sure to point out that he can even watch her drama.
The normally stoic Boong Do is not interested in TV and, tossing the remote aside, kisses her. Hee Jin pulls away, responding that as he pointed out, she can’t just operate on instinct alone. He tells her how charming she is when she does, and breathless from the compliment, she calls him a player.
He readily admits that he didn’t know it, but he really is a player, and then kisses her again. This time, she hops up on to his feet so she can kiss him back.
There are many great kisses in “Queen In Hyun’s Man”, but this was one of my favourites. I actually ended up rewatching most of this drama while I was writing this; the ending scene is another personal favourite.

The funny thing about this scene is the wall behind them with the sunflowers makes me think of Coffee Prince and another one of may all-time favorite kiss scenes. I can’t help but think it was intentional. Also her toe nails are so cute.

I always think the same thing, MY2GIRLS! Sunflowers are a pretty uncommon but bold motif that it’s memorable when they pop up.
