It is possible to eat cheap and tasty in Manhattan, especially if you visit Chinatown. On a narrow street that bends at a 90 degree angle, once known as a setting for gang warfare, you will find Tasty Hand-Pulled Noodles Inc.
As to be expected of good hand-pulled noodles, they were chewy and did not become soft from sitting in the flavourful soup. For less than $8, you can have beef or roast duck, as we did. It was worth sitting in the hot, basement dining room.
