On a day with Texas-like heat, we enjoyed the Texas-style barbecue of AAA Bar. The majority of the patrons were big, burly men, which was surprising given that the portion sizes were not of the American variety.
Dry Rub Ribs – everyone’s favourite dish! The ribs were tender, juicy and just plain good.
Spicy Smoked Sausage – well balanced in spicy and smoky flavours, and well complemented by the soft white bread.
Spicy Coleslaw – I have never had spicy coleslaw, and now I wonder why. It’s a good combination.
Chicken & Waffles – the waffles were crispy and flavourful so it did not fade in combination with the gravy and chicken, which were both delicious.
Mac & Cheese – my least favourite dish along with the Smoked Beef Brisket (not pictured), because the taste reminded me of American processed cheese. On the plus side, the macaroni was firm. The brisket was too dry.
