Tasty Tuesday: Salt’s Cure

Salt’s Cure prides itself on using local California ingredients, which was a treat for brunch loving tourists like us.

We were excited about the Lamb Sausage Plate, but were disappointed to receive only a single lamb sausage, and one that failed to have a strong lamb flavour.

The Oatmeal Griddle Cakes looked like an unappealing, greasy mound, but it turned out to be our favourite dish. The griddle frying made all the difference, creating pancakes that had a crispy edge, which contrasted nicely with the soft cakes. The maple butter complemented them perfectly.

We ordered the Avocado and Citrus Salad to offset the two heavier dishes. It was the fresh reprieve we wanted, though more sour than we would have liked.
