I was enticed to visit Greta Solomon’s just based on their redesign of the store front with its cream coloured double french doors. Silly me, I forgot to take a photo, so see it here. Inside, the menu features traditional French cuisine.
We started with the Ratatouille – poached egg, courgettes, tomato, peppers, eggplants and olive tapanade (see above) and the Escargot vol au vent – buttered snails on puff pastry with herbs (see below).
For my entrée, I ordered the Provençal Classic Dish with Aioli – cod, baby squid, seasonal vegetables and saffron aioli. The fish was perfectly cooked and the flavours were very light and fresh.
My significant other ordered the Magret de Canard “Rossini style” – Duck with seared foie gras, black truffle, pommes puree, braised cabbage and sauce port. A very flavourful dish.
The food was good and the restaurant decor was comfortably elegant.
