Bar Begonia, a French style cocktail bar, is the latest venture by chef, Anthony Rose. Much to the relief of its neighbours, it took over a unique building that sat vacant for a long time.
Our dining companion decided to eat light, ordering the olives & veg à la greque appetizer and tuna tartar nicoise (see above).
I ordered the duck confit with roasted jerusalem artichoke, swiss chard and cassis.
My significant other ordered the seared flat iron steak in wild mushroom medeira cream sauce.
Bar Begonia seemed more focused on drinking than eating, with small Parisian style portions, and a very prominent bar set up. However, everything we ate was delicious, and the decor was comfortable enough to nurse a dish or drink in.
