Inspired by the show “Let’s Eat”, I dragged Junggugeo Kaenada and our significant others to eat a meal of budae jjigae, a stew composed of hot dogs, ham, pork, ramen noodles, kim chi, and vegetables. If not haute cuisine, the budae jjigae was tasty and cheap, perfect for the cold weather. The deep fried pork wasn’t crispy, and the sweet and sour sauce lacked sourness. The stir-fried octopus, on the other hand, was almost spicy enough to sober me up from the soju (what can I say? I’m a lightweight), but good in combination with the noodles. The best part was the free food that showed up part way through the meal, and the cheap bill.
