Amongst heavy brunch options was Hey Buttercup! – a smoker roasted butternut squash and poached egg dish served on a wooden cutting board. It was hearty though, and balanced nicely by a shaved vegetable salad sprinkled with fluffy cheese that was flavourful yet refreshing. I don’t know if it was intentional, but I found a couple of bacon bits in the salad, which were welcome punches of salt and fat. But, the bacon was not necessary.
