As the name hints, Antler focuses on game meat. So, while the menu offers chicken and vegetarian dishes, diners can also take advantage of wild boar, venison, and duck.
We started with Venison Tartare – spiced minced venison, raw quail egg, with crostini. This was quite delicious.
My significant other ordered the Spice Ash Crusted Rack of Deer – braised shoulder with parsnip purée and swiss chard (see featured image above). The deer was tender and perfectly cooked.
I ordered the special, a duck cavatelli. The flavours were good, but I found the pasta slightly overcooked. I need my pasta to be al dente so this was a disappointment.
I was satisfied, but not thrilled with my dish. Fortunately, we ended with a great wild blueberry ricotta cheesecake with a hazelnut crumble.
