Side dish: For Bong Soon’s wedding, her father might consider making Mary’s frosted walnut layer cake. It looks fancy enough to serve as a wedding cake, but will use the ingredient that he knows best.
After the Dobong-dong kidnapper, Jang Hyun is taken into custody by cop, Gook Doo (Ji Soo), Bong Soon (Park Bo Young) and Min Hyuk (Park Hyung Sik) can finally relax. Meanwhile, the citizens of Seoul rejoice at the news of Jang Hyun’s arrest.
Min Hyuk volunteers to find Bong Soon’s runaway father, and when he does, he convinces him to return home by asking for his permission to marry his daughter. After dropping off Bong Soon’s inebriated father at home, Min Hyuk is invited by Bong Soon’s mother to stay overnight. Unfortunately, the couple’s amorous activities in Bong Soon’s bedroom are interrupted by her brother, Bong Ki. Min Hyuk reluctantly goes home.
In other news, Bong Soon’s brother, Bong Ki and Gook Doo’s ex-girlfriend, Hee Ji decide that they are not meant to be together. Baek Tak is enraged to discover that his Buddhist monk guru is a fraud. Clara makes a cameo as a dental hygienist to Baek Tak’s toothless thug.
Jang Hyun is given the death sentence while at least one of his victims is committed to a psychiatric ward. Min Hyuk is publicly commended for helping the police capture Jang Hyun, then dismayed when Bong Soon indicates that he can expect to take credit for more of her heroics in the future. Gook Du is promoted to the Gangham Police Unit.
Bong Soon’s presentation of her mobile game, The Super Girl Bong Soon to the Planning and Development team is a success. The team decide to take on both Bong Soon and her game idea.
Gook Doo reveals to Bong Soon that he has liked her since their high school days, but claims that he is happy to remain friends. The truth is that Gook Doo is heartbroken, and when challenged by Bong Ki about whether he was truly oblivious to Bong Soon’s crush on him, Gook Doo says that he was blinded by his own feelings. Gook Doo and Bong Soon’s teenage gang threaten Min Hyuk with bodily harm if he fails to be treat Bong Soon well.
Bong Soon is living her dream of being a game designer and a secret hero with the full support of Min Hyuk. Unfortunately, her heroic activities frequently get in the way of her day job, and she is kicked out of the Planning and Development Team. Bong Soon takes this setback in stride.
Min Hyuk proposes to Bong Soon under the cherry blossoms, their marriage follows soon after, then Bong Soon gives birth to twin daughters who inherit her immense strength. Baek Tak’s thugs are briefly enlisted for the thankless task of caring for the girls before the bruised and battered men abandon Min Hyuk. Min Hyuk interrupts Bong Soon during her heroic activities to plead for help, but Bong Soon is soon called away to fight evil in the wider world.
Episode Review
Only is away this week, so we’ve drafted in occasional Noona, Jin Joo (진주) to step in.
Junggugeo Kaenada 중국어 캐나다: So, the finale of “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon” was just as many predicted: a filler episode in which Bong Soon and Min Hyuk act lovey dovey, get married and have babies. Plus, Bong Soon finishes her game design, and her father returns home. Basically, all loose ends are tied up.
Jin Joo 진주: I laugh at how neatly some story lines were finished off. Bong Ki and Hee Ji were basically neglected for much of the series, so it makes sense to have them reflect everyone’s indifference towards them and just break up. The most disturbing conclusion was Jang Hyun receiving the death sentence and seeing one of his victims suffering in a psychiatric ward. It was dark comedy to have these scenes followed by Bong Soon’s satisfied smile.
Junggugeo Kaenada: This incongruous mix of romantic comedy with disturbing crime thriller is what creates these horrifically insensitive moments in Korean dramas.
Jin Joo: If only the writer had stuck to romantic comedy. Min Hyuk and Bong Soon were very cute throughout this finale, trying to sneak in skinship at the office, in her room, and while they are out and about.
Junggugeo Kaenada: I liked that they were horny for each other, though in the most chaste way possible.
Jin Joo: I must commend the writer for making Gook Doo’s heartbreak more than an afterthought. It gave Ji Soo the chance to infuse the character with depth and dignity.
Junggugeo Kaenada: I’ve mentioned previously that I would have liked to see more of Gook Doo as a teenager, and this episode only strengthened this sentiment. Teenage Gook Doo’s confusion and conflict is only glimpsed at in the flashbacks, but they made him such an interesting character.
Jin Joo: If Park Hyung Sik was not so adept at both the comedic and dramatic moments, Ji Soo’s steady take on Gook Doo might have stolen the limelight.
Junggugeo Kaenada: Unfortunately, poor Min Hyuk looks destined to be a downtrodden husband, much like his father-in-law. I know it was supposed to be played for laughs, but Min Hyuk looked so pitiful in the final scene, left to care for his monstrously strong daughters by himself while Bong Soon focuses on saving the world.
Jin Joo: At least Bong Soon doesn’t get to have it all. She couldn’t balance her game development work with her hero activities. Frankly, I wasn’t convinced that her being an obvious favourite of Min Hyuk’s didn’t have everything to do with her and her game being accepted by the Planning and Development Team. So, I’m glad she was eventually removed from the Team for her tardiness.
Junggugeo Kaenada: It would have been nice to see her prove that she was actually competent at game design independent of Min Hyuk, but probably unrealistic.
Jin Joo: Well, all’s well that ends well, I suppose.

The absence of Min Hyuk’s family at the wedding felt weird to me. I know he was estranged from his brother after that incident, but then they just ceased to exist.

The subs on Viki say the serial killer/kidnapper/rapist received life sentence. I wonder which is correct because NOF says a death sentence (which he deserves).
And I agree with mutantreptile, Min Hyuk’s family just vanished.

Personally I and weird out that we did not get to see Min Min family at his own wedding, and I was sad we did not see Bong Bong high school minions. And did anyone else catch that they actually never showed the wedding dress in it’s entirety. And I was also not really for that last scene we see of min min, I mean is future looks bleak. Other than that it was fluffy enough for a last episode.
