Eun Chan is giddy at the fact that Han Gyul will be staying in Korea. However, his grandma’s disapproval has her dreaming of financial independence by becoming a barista.
After being encouraged by her oft-married mother, and receiving a mock marriage proposal from Han Seong, Yoo Joo surprises Han Seong by getting down on one knee and proposing to him with matching rings at the ready. Han Seong ecstatically accepts.
Sun Ki is happy to have reconnected with his long lost love, but the woman only wants to be left alone and avoid the wrath of his parents. Sun Ki sweetly ignores her request.
Han Gyul and Eun Chan get into a spat when she insists on paying back the money she borrowed from him before they started dating. They have a brief respite from bickering when Han Gyul shares Han Seong and Yoo Joo’s good news.
Han Gyul’s grandmother may still object to him dating Eun Chan, but she faces a growing chorus of Eun Chan supporters. Mr. Hong credits Eun Chan with helping Han Gyul make the coffee house a success. Han Gyul’s mother finds Eun Chan easy to get along with after having sushi with her. Han Gyul’s father reminds Grandma that he regrets her interference in his relationship with Han Gyul’s biological mother.
Mr. Ku creates a list of commandments to keep himself away from Eun Chan’s mother. She renews his hope by telling him that she would be open to becoming involved with him after Eun Chan and Eun Sae have moved out.
Ha Rim makes a move on a coffee house customer after noticing her staring at him. His seduction method involves forcing her to carry a tray of dirty glasses for him to the kitchen then ordering her to enter her phone number into his phone.
Han Gyul repeatedly brings up marriage with Eun Chan and she repeatedly makes light of his proposal. At Han Seong and Yoo Joo’s wedding, Han Gyul finally backs up his proposal with a ring on the finger, and Eun Chan accepts. However, she expects to marry in four or five years, when she can independently support her mother and sister, whereas Han Gyul is hoping to marry within a year.
When Han Gyul reveals that he told his family that he would marry soon, an outraged Eun Chan leaves in a huff. Unbeknownst to them, Han Gyul’s grandmother has collapsed in the washroom of the wedding venue.

Junggugeo Kaenada 중국어 캐나다: Now, we have entered into an alternate reality when Eun Chan and Han Gyul bicker and I don’t care.
Only 만: Eun Chan’s need to be financially independent is reasonable, but the couple’s inability to communicate about it does seem overblown.
Junggugeo Kaenada: Lucky for the preoccupied couple, everyone else is helping convince Han Gyul’s grandmother that Eun Chan is a great catch. So, it looks like that problem will be solved without their interference, especially if Grandma dies.
Only: Grandma’s collapse at the end did make the couple’s spat look petty in comparison. Han Gyul is trying to bully his way into matrimony while Eun Chan is repeatedly departing in a huff instead of making a compromise.
Junggugeo Kaenada: I don’t have much more to say about this episode except that it is probably my least favourite of the series.
Only: It feels unnecessary, but having watched the series before, we can console ourselves with the payoff of episode 16.
